Hi guys out there. I need your help~

You see I'm about ready to start opening commissions but, alas I have NO IDEA what to charge for my prices.

While I have some numbers in my head for what I'd like to get for some work, my concept of what is fair may be different to you or someone else who may be interested in my work.

So if you would be willing to help me out, and comment on what you believe would be acceptable- I would really appreciate it!

In the end What I will most likely do is take, all who answer, and my own numbers together, and average them to get a baseline, so the more of you who comment the better my math with be!

Here are the following things that I am open to doing on commission:

Note: I am basing my price scale over how complex the detail is, and how many subjects are involved. Resolution is always highest on 'Super Texture' work. Dimensions such as A3 A4 and A5 are inconsequential to digital work.

** Are Items I am considering but not determined to sell on commission, these items must factor in Material cost and work

Obviously there are more things I could offer, but these are for what I have examples of. With the exception of a stand alone super texture character.

Some of these examples are rather old, so pay in mind anything commissioned will be better quality then what I have produced in the past.

Any one who takes the time put input on this journal are greatly appreciated.

I hope to have my prices up relatively soon, and when I do it will be in my brand new CSS <3

Well I'm a starting commissioner as well and really it takes a while to get comfortable and such the more commissions you do and part of the equipment you need and such.

I do pencil sketches in the same price range with my digtal sketches and/or line work depending on detail at $5 to $20 ish. From head to full body and or plus background with probably another $15 or so in it. I price traditional media more because of how much it costs now a days.

Digital I lessen and sometimes heighten in some areas depending on the piece. [link] Here is my commission page. Hopefully this helps or sets a basic idea for ya.

Average prices (in my opinion)
Sketches can range anywhere between $5-10
Lineart should be slightly higher, between $8-13 depending on how complex the character gets

Flat coloring around $15-20, again depends all on how complex characters you get c;
Soft cell shading, $21-30
$30-38 for the textured shading.
And somewhere between $40-60+ for the super detailed ones. Like I've said before it just depends on how detailed you get and how much effort goes into the backgrounds and characters.

That's all I have, apologies! I've seen your work, and I'm mighty impressed...the detail is lovely and I think these prices are fairly reasonable considering the talent and skill you possess. If I had money to spare, I would be commissioning you in a heartbeat!

For sketches I'd range it at $6-10
On lineart, i'd say $9-12 just because in my opinion, even though the lines are more refined and clear, it still seems to be worth around the same as a sketch which as some additional detail merged with it.

For your flat colors, between $20-25
On the soft shading, $24-30
$35-45 with the textured shading
And at least $65 for the super detailed ones

I can't really pinpoint with the backgrounds since I've seen various ones you've completed so maybe like... 35+ for and added background, and depending on the detail option, double for an added character.
I hope it helps some, and goodluck! c:
